SOKO Kenya’s Founder Recognized at Women in Manufacturing Awards
SOKO Kenya is proud to celebrate our founder, Jo Maiden, who was awarded First Runner-Up for the Women in Manufacturing ESG Warrior Award at the Kenya Association of Manufacturers Women in Manufacturing dinner. The event brought together industry leaders to honour the achievements, dedication, and impact of women shaping the future of manufacturing.

“This award is a powerful affirmation of 16 years spent with an underlying question: how can the fashion industry be used as a force for good and placing people and planet at the centre of everything we do?” said Jo Maiden. “For me, women in manufacturing means ensuring women aren’t just present, but leading, shaping, and rising at every level of the industry.”
Globally, women represent more than 29% of the manufacturing workforce (Source: The Manufacturing Institute). In Kenya, initiatives like Women in Manufacturing (WIM) are working to bridge this gap, advocating for policies and support systems that empower women in the sector.
The evening was a powerful reminder of the resilience and innovation of women who are breaking barriers and driving change in an industry that has long been male-dominated. The momentum continues, and at SOKO Kenya, we remain committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future in manufacturing.
